Actual Size
Definition:
The finished (dressed) size as opposed to the nominal size of a piece of lumber.
When sawn lumber is seasoned, dressed or planed the size becomes smaller which is the ACTUAL SIZE.
example....
A piece of lumber 100x50 (2x4) which is the nominal, sawn size may become approx 90x45 (approx 1-1/2" x 3-1/2")
when it has been dressed or planed, which is the actual size.
