Finger jointed.
A method of joining smaller pieces of wood together to create longer lengths. Finger joints are very strong and the wood has a lesser chance of warping than a single piece of wood the same length.
Finger joint; end-jointed lumber using finger-joint configuration
A series of fingers machined on the ends of two pieces of wood to be joined, which mesh together and are held firmly in position with an adhesive.
