Definition:
Wall plate, bottom plate.
The bottom horizontal framing member of the wall.
The bottom member of an interior wall frame.
The lowest horizontal strip on wall and partition framing. The sole plate for a partition is supported by a wood subfloor, concrete slab, or another closed surface.
