Why we enjoy house sitting.
Not only do we get to see and experience new places, but the quite nights in a different environment give us a chance to catch up with our online writing.

We are reliable professional people who will look after your house, pets and garden and on your return you will find the house exactly as you had left it.
We have a way with pets and enjoy walking.
We have previous house sitting experiences and can provide excellent references.
We would prefer a house that has some form of internet access (so we can use our laptop) and is reasonably handy to public transport that runs into the city.
Please don't hesitate to ask us any questions.

Previous house sitting experiences:

January 2010 - 9 days
This was a relatively short stay and was very short notice but suited me fine. Jenny did not come on this one due to the short notice and also because we had recently had our fourth grandchild.

The house I had to mind was in Glen Iris, a Melbourne suburb about 13 km East of the City.

I arrived before the owners departed (previously arranged) to get to meet the owners and the pets and to get acquainted with the pet requirements and other chores.

My duties were to mind and walk a 7 months old Labradoodle pup, look after a cat, feed a few fish and undertake normal house chores.

The dog and cat got on fine with me from day one but the dog had loads of energy (because of his young age) and had to be walked twice a day. That suited me fine as I enjoy walking and there are so many parks and walkways around Glen Iris I could go a different route most days.

On a typical day I would feed all in the morning and then take the dog for a long walk.
Around Mid-day I would feed the dog (currently on three small meals a day). Some days I would catch a train into town after lunch, usually coming back within four hours - the dog did not like to be without human company for too long.
After diner I would take the dog for another walk and a bit of a run.
Once back and settled I would spend the evening working on my computer with the dog at my feet and the cat sitting on top of the steps watching over everything.
The fish seemed nonplused about it all.
It was a mighty stay.

HI Les
Thank you so much for looking after our animals and house.
The house was lovely and clean when we arrived home, thank you very much and the animals all seemed very happy. In fact, I think Rocky misses you, and his walks!
You can add us as references. We would be happy to talk/email anyone for you.
All the best.

March 2009 - 3 1/2 weeks
From the end of February up until the end of March 2009 year we looked after a house in Kew, Melbourne while the owners went on a holiday overseas.

We arrived in Melbourne the day before the owners departed (at their request) so they could get to meet us and also have time to show us the ropes.

Our duties were to mind and walk two dogs and tend to the lawns and water the gardens, although at that time there was a severe water restriction in Melbourne so gardens could only be watered twice a week.

The dogs took to us very quickly.

On a typical day we would do the morning chores, feed and walk the dogs and on some days we would then head into the City for a bit of sight seeing.
We would usually return mid to late afternoon and sometimes take the dogs for a second walk and then settle in for the evening.

We enjoyed the stay so much that it prompted us to do it again.

Les and Jenny Kenny
Les and Jenny looked after our Melbourne home for three and a half weeks in March 2009.
We arrived home to an immaculately clean and tidy house, watered garden, mown lawns and indoor plants, happy well exercised dogs and Les and Jenny's smiling faces at the door.
We had time for handovers at each end of our holiday. We thoroughly recommend this couple to others who are needing caring, conscientious and efficient sitters. We would welcome them back any time!
