There are currently 11 different picnic table designs in the BuildEazy website. They all have plans and step-by-step building instructions. The picnic table projects include standard picnic tables (3 sizes), 1 piece folding picnic tables (4 variations), a 2 piece folding picnic table, kids picnic tables (2 types), a hexagonal (six sided) picnic table, and an octagonal picnic table (eight sided).

BuildEazy picnic table list

#1 Family size traditional picnic table: How to build a family size strong picnic table. This is a good solid family size picnic table able to seat eight people at a push. The table-top area is 2000mm (80") long x 800mm (32") wide and the complete unit is made out of 2x4 lumber. The side seats are built in.

#2 4 seater picnic table: How to build a smaller traditional type picnic table. This picnic table is the lightweight version (and smaller) than the 'Family size traditional picnic table' listed above. The table-top area is 52" long x 2ft wide. It can sit 4 people (two kids and two adults) and is handy if you cant accommodate a bigger picnic table.

#3 Kids' size traditional picnic table: How to build a kids size traditional type picnic table. This picnic table is the kids size version of the two picnic tables listed above. Made out of 1x6 boards (ripped in half for the frame) , the table-top is 35-1/2" long by 16-1/2" wide. The overall width is 33". There is a metric version as well as a standard version.

#4 Kids' size folding picnic table 1 piece: How to build a kids size folding picnic table. This is a very handy unit for the young kids. They can open it up to eat on the table (inside or outside) or use it for a work table (drawing etc), and when done - it can be folded back to a single bench seat and put against a wall taking up minimum space but still able to be used as a seat (to watch TV or whatever). The tabletop is 900mm (35-1/2") long x 300mm (1ft) wide.

#5 Compact folding picnic table 1 piece: How to build a smaller folding picnic table. This small to medium size folding picnic table folds down to a single bench seat. When in picnic table mode, the tabletop is 1090mm (43-5/8") long x 475mm (19") wide. In bench seat mode the tabletop becomes the back-rest.

#6 Folding picnic table 1 piece made of 2x4: How to build a folding picnic table. This complete unit is made from 2x4 (50mm x 100mm) lumber. North American standards. The picnic table can fold back to a bench seat and the tabletop becomes the back of the bench.
In picnic table mode the unit is 60" (1524 mm) long x 47-1/4" (1200 mm) wide.
In bench seat mode the unit is 60" (1524 mm) long x 21-1/2" (545 mm) wide.
It stands 29" (737mm) high.

#7 Folding picnic table 1 piece with armrest: How to build a folding picnic table. Another of the folding picnic tables projects. This one has seat arms, that apart from the obvious also acts as a stop to hold the picnic table from spreading out too far.
In bench seat mode it can seat 2 adult and a kid, and in picnic table mode it can seat 5 people.
The tabletop is 1487 mm (58-1/2") long by 19" wide.

#8 Folding picnic table 2 piece:

How to build a two piece folding picnic table. This unit comprises of two separate bench seats in which the back rests of both benches can fold over and join together to make a picnic table. It is made from 150 mm x 50 mm (2" x 6") and 100 mm x 50 mm (2" x 4") wood and the tabletop is 1600mm (64") long and 22" wide.

#9 Extendable picnic table with separate seats: How to build an extendable picnic table with separate seats. This is a 5 piece set, consisting of a table, two separate benches, and two separate extension pieces. The extension pieces can be added to the ends of the table when more tabletop space is required. The table is 750 mm (30") wide by 1300 mm (52") long without the extensions, and extends to 2200 mm (7' 4") with the extension pieces added. Each bench seat is 1300 mm (52") long and 290 mm (11 5/8") wide.

#10 Hexagonal picnic table: How to build a hexagonal picnic table - that is, a six sided table surrounded by seating. The unit spans 8ft 5-1/2inches (2644mm) at its widest point. It is constructed out of 2x4 (50mm x 100mm) stock for the frames and 2x6 (50mm x 150mm) stock for the tabletop board, seat boards, and the legs.

#11 Octagonal picnic table: How to build an octagonal picnic table - that is, an eight sided table surrounded by seating. The unit spans 8ft 4inches (2500mm) at its widest point. It is constructed out of 2x4 (50mm x 100mm) and 2x6 (50mm x 150mm) stock.

#12 Cross-leg picnic table with bench: This setting is ideal for a garden or lawn. It's a stand alone cross-leg table 80" long by 30-3/4" wide with a separate bench seat 80" long by 15-1/4" wide. It is a good size table with a wider than normal bench.
