1.3. The back boards

The back boards will need to be ripped, but not parallel to the sides.
They can be ripped in the same manner as the seat slats but will have to be done free hand (by eye) as the cutting line is not parallel to the sides and therefore the circular saw edge guide will be of little use.

Refer to the drawing below to mark each end of the cutting line and then use a straight edge and pencil to draw the line.
A straight edge can be one of the other back boards.
Cut all four back boards the same.
